Poem discusses the author's conflicting personal experiences with racism & discrimination that led him to feel foreign in his own body & land. He eventually accepts himself, becoming proud of being an Indigenous Mixteco.

Foros Indigenas on December 18 & 19 proposed several demands for indigenous groups’ rights. Mixtecos, Zapotecos, Triquis, Chinatecos, & native groups: Paipai, Cochimi, Kiliwa, Cucapa y Kuimai de Baja California represented.

Delegates from FIOB on both sides of the border attended el Foro Nacional Indigena to fight for recognition of political, social, and cultural rights of indigenous migrants.
